Batches I’ve Indexed / Arbitrated September 15 2012

Working on the highest priority batches right now and the US (Community Project) New York Passengers Lists 1925-1942 Part A came up.

Had a couple batches now where the indexers need a reminder that this rule still applies because FSI has not taken it out of the example link…

LIST OF UNITED STATES CITIZENS

[The above photo] “is an example of a passenger list of United States citizens. Unless a location outside the United States was indicated in the place of birth column, for images with this kind of column heading, you should index United States in the Place of Birth or Nationality field for each record on the page.” – from the example links within the indexing project

More than 10 records - Also when an image has more than 10 records on it… we can use the above picture as an example again for this, it has more than 10, you need to add in the additional records and finish indexing the whole document. Don’t just quit and submit it with only 10 names. If you and the other indexer both only index the first 10 records and get nothing wrong then you’re causing the additional records to never be indexed.

Blank Fields – DO NOT type in the word “blank”. Use Ctrl+B.
