- 2 batches: Do not assume child’s name in the christenings from the parents.
- 2 batches: Do not assume gender if one is not directly listed or a relationship such as son / daughter / wife / husband is not listed.
I usually do not lookup names of people. I always try and type what I see. Other lookup sources for names especially censuses are not all 1st hand sources and should not be totally relied upon. How do you know that this record you are indexing right now isn’t the correct spelling and the others are all incorrect? When arbitrating I will look up some names if I really cant make a decision between what Indexer A and B have chosen and I can’t see anything different. In those cases then I only use FamilySearch.
Looking up names of places / locations well that’s different and I do do that.
